We will list some scenarios you can automate using The Chief I/O, webhooks, and Zapier.

We designate by "lead" someone who visited your whitepaper web page.

We designate by "prospect" someone who downloaded your whitepaper by entering their details and submitting the form.

  • Send welcome emails to new prospects
  • Send a notification on Slack every time a new lead fills your form
  • Add prospects data to your email marketing software (e.g. Mailchimp)
  • Add prospects data to your CRM software

All of the above are possible using webhooks and Zapier.

How to create a Zapier webhook and use it in your whitepaper

After creating a Zapier account, create a new zap. This zap should start with the "Webhooks by Zapier" task. Make sure to select "Catch Hook" as an event.

Each time a lead enters and sends their data, the webhook will catch the user information. You can test this by trying yourself the whitepaper download form and perform a test on the webhook.

Once the webhook is working, you can create a new task to use the collected data. Let's say you want to store the results to your email marketing software. We will use Mailerlite in this example, you can use other software like Mailchimp or any other type of integration. Zapier allows hundreds of integrations.

We can now use the data collected by the webhook to populate the new subscriber data.
